Meet the Director

Bob Pickett

Producer and director of the St. Louis Concert Choir and Ensemble, Bob Pickett brings over 40 years of choral conduction experience to this holiday production.

He toured nationally for 6 years with the Festival Of Praise Choir, directed the choral music program at Grace Church-Saint Louis for over ten years, and organized prepared the 200 voice choirs for the St. Louis performances of The Young Messiah, Emmanuel, and the Ensemble for My Utmost For His Highest.

In 1996, Bob conducted an international 600-voice choir in Israel for the Jerusalem 3000 performances of David: A Man After God’s Own Heart, and the Young Messiah, in 1997 directed David’s US premiere here in St. Louis and at the acclaimed Christian Artists’ Seminar at Estes Park, Colorado. In 2000 Bob directed the combined CMI Continentals Encore Choir in Manger Square as they presented “Christmas in June” in Bethlehem. In 2003 he conducted a 150-voice combined choir from CMI and the island state in a patriotic concert featuring Larnelle Harris at the Waikiki Shell in Honolulu, Hawaii.

A cum laude graduate of Heidelberg College (Tiffin, OH), Bob taught high school vocal music in Monroe, Michigan and St. Louis, Missouri, garnering state and national honors with his student groups. In 2004 he was honored by his alma mater to serve as guest conductor for the annual Alumni Choir performance at Heidelberg College and in August 2007 returned to Lansing, MI, to coordinate the music and assist in the directing of the reunion and concert of the award-winning Everett Chorale at his high school alma mater. Bob directed the St. Louis city-wide choir for the national telecast of the National Day of Prayer and will be directing and coordinating the Global Day of Prayer St. Louis mass choir in May 2008.

Bob and his wife, Paula, have a talented son, Benjamin, and reside in St. Charles, MO, where Bob serves on the pastoral staff at Grace Church – Saint Louis.
